A temple school in Rakhine State (one of the ethnic minority states located in west Myanmar), the Palae Yadanar Monastic School, faces serious shortages of school and dormitory buildings.
This is due to an increasing numbers of children who want to enter this school. There were 600 students in 2015, and now, 1015 students are at the school. Many students study in outside as there are no place to do it inside.
Why so many children want to enter this school?
One of the reasons is that the temple school provide 3 meals, 365-days accommodation and education for free of charge. The temple school relies their income on local donations.
The temple school attracts children who cannot go to a public school due to poverty.
Some of the children are orphans.
Link To Myanmar, a Japan-registered NGO, is planning to support this school by extending school building as the first step of our education support project.
We are currently calling for about US$44,339 in order to extend a building.
Education is the only and the best way for them to get out from the poverty.
Lets make action now to give children chances!
